# How to Contribute: AI-based Mainframe Modernization White Paper (Summer 2025 Linux Mentorship)

Dear Mentor,

I hope this message finds you well.

My name is **Aditi Mehta** , a student at **Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)**, with a strong background in software development, machine learning, and open-source collaboration. I recently submitted an application for the **Summer 2025 mentorship** under the **Open Mainframe Project** for the **“Guide to AI-based Mainframe Modernization Application”** white paper.

I’m deeply interested in the intersection of **AI and mainframe modernization** , especially in how AI-driven tools are reshaping legacy system transformation. While the final selection is pending, I am eager to contribute to this initiative in any capacity — be it through research, vendor outreach, comparative analysis, or drafting sections of the white paper.

I’d be grateful for any guidance you can offer on:

- How I can begin contributing immediately (even informally),
- Accessing any discussion channels, documentation, or previous drafts,
- Opportunities to assist with literature reviews or framework ideation.

I’m confident that my prior experience with technical writing, research, and AI-based development will allow me to make a meaningful contribution to the project. I’d love to collaborate with the team, learn from the mentorship process, and contribute to a high-impact deliverable that benefits the mainframe community.
