# How do I update Zowe to a newer version?

We currently have Zowe installed on our Mainframe and we want to upgrade to a newer version. Is there an upgrade option or do I need to un-install and re-install Zowe to the newer version?

You can upgrade Zowe without uninstalling the old version. Follow the step-by-step guide in the Zowe documentation.
